Entre mai et juillet 2025, la Kulturfabrik propose trois résidences de recherche et d’expérimentation d’une durée de quatre semaines aux artistes et collectifs du territoire national et aux artistes de nationalité luxembourgeoise vivant à l’étranger dans les domaines des arts plastiques et de l’art-performance. 

La vocation de la Squatfabrik est de mettre en valeur la réflexion, le questionnement ou développement de sa pratique artistique, l’expérimentation et la recherche en proposant des résidences rémunérées sans obligation de résultat ou de rendu. Ce programme de résidences de la Kulturfabrik encourage des approches qui sortent des cadres établis, en privilégiant des démarches et langages artistiques singuliers et pluridisciplinaires. La Squatfabrik défend une programmation engagée qui peut se traduire par une démarche artistique, des matériaux, des thématiques, questionnant des enjeux sociétaux ou environnementaux. Elle accorde une attention particulière et un accompagnement aux projets souhaitant tisser des liens avec les acteurices, les institutions et/ou habitant·es du territoire et/ou incluant des propositions participatives.

La Squatfabrik est un programme de résidence proposé par et à la Kulturfabrik, en synergie avec la résidence d’artistes Bridderhaus, et soutenu financièrement par l’Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte. 

Les résidences Squatfabrik se dérouleront sur trois périodes : 

1. 7 avril au 4 mai 2025
2. 12 mai au 8 juin 2025
3. 16 juin au 13 juillet 2025

Between May and July 2025, the Kulturfabrik is offering three four-week research and experimentation residencies to artists and collectives from the national territory, as well as Luxembourgish artists living abroad, in the fields of visual arts and performance art.

Squatfabrik's mission is to encourage artists to reflect on and develop their artistic practice, to experiment and carry out research by offering paid residencies with no obligation to achieve results or deliver outputs. Kulturfabrik's residency program promotes approaches that go beyond established frameworks, with an emphasis on singular, multi-disciplinary artistic languages. One of the primary aims of the residency is to enable artists and artist collectives to invest their time into experimenting with new forms and doing research.
Thought-provoking and politically engaged projects lie at the heart of Squatfabrik. Those qualities - whether under the form of an artistic approach, materials or themes that raise questions about social or environmental issues - are central to the program's identity. It pays particular attention to and supports projects that seek to forge links with local players, institutions and/or residents and/or include participatory proposals.

The Squatfabrik is a research and experimentation residency program offered by Kulturfabrik, in collaboration with the Bridderhaus artists' residency, and financially supported by the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.

1. From April 7 to May 4, 2025
2. From May 12 to June 8, 2025
3. From June 16 to July 13, 2025
