1950s - end of 1960s: the Ciné Scala is carried by the 'Œuvres paroissiales' from Diekirch
1977: Diekirch’s Cultural Commission brings the ‘Ciné Club Diekirch’ into being who organises regular shows of films in 16mm (for ex. : ‚Orient Express', ‚Trafic' or ‚Le Bon, la Brute et le Truand'). The Council rents the Scala building.
From 1980 to 1985: the Council renovates the cinema and the projector is equipped for projections of films in 35mm.
Since 1983 the Ciné Scala operates regularly under the responsibility of the Council of Diekirch and in close cooperation with the CDAC (Centre de Diffusion et d'Animation Cinématographique), the network of regional cinemas.
In July 2011 the Ciné Scala is equipped for digital projection. The transition towards digital cinema projection and the access to the latest film productions were made possible through financial funds provided by the Ministry of Culture and the Council of Diekirch as well as through the support of the Utopia SA and the CNA in Dudelange.
