Musée National de la Résistance

Summary

The museum traces back the history of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg from 1940 to 45, of the Nazi oppression, of the people’s reactions (passive resistance, resistance movements, forced enrolment into the German Army, strikes, people who rebelled against being forcefully enrolled in the German Army, Luxembourgers in the maquis and the Allied Forces), at the time of the final liberation, through photographs, objects and art works. A second part deals with the Nazi repression and the totalitarian concentration camp system, as well as the fate of the Jewish people of Luxembourg.

The museum, complete with a reading room, a library and a sales area, organises temporary exhibits, offers guided visits and workshops. French and German texts. English and portugese translations available.
