Actors Repertory Theatre Luxembourg presents: The Fever, by Wallace Shawn
(Leider existiert dieser Text nicht in deutsch.)
The Fever considers the inequalities of global capitalism and the resulting harsh disparities. Written by playwright and actor Wallace Shawn (My Dinner with Andre, Clueless, The Princess Bride, the Toy Story films, etc.) to be performed by one actor, the piece follows the story and reflections of a traveller from a privileged country who travels to a poor country. The experience prompts a moral crisis as the traveller questions and examines what has been witnessed -- often with Shawn's surprising wit and humour contrasting with the harsh realisations of the chasm between global 'haves' and 'have-nots'.
Actors Rep's production will feature Christine Probst (Greyhounds, Flowers in the Desert, Do You Want to Know a Secret? and Mister Paradise... at TNL) and Erik Abbott (Actors Rep Artistic Director, who performed with Probst in Flowers in the Desert last year) in alternating performances October 12 (Abbott), 13 (Probst), 15 (Abbott), 19 (Probst), 20 (Abbott) and 22 (Probst).
The alternating performances offer audiences the rare opportunity to see two seasoned professionals interpret this remarkable play.
